Dr. Rebecca Laptook

Biography

Rebecca Laptook is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University, serving as a Clinician Educator as well as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics. She received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where she honed her expertise in child psychology. Dr. Laptook completed her internship at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical School and subsequently undertook a child postdoctoral fellowship at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. As a staff psychologist at Hasbro Children's Partial Hospital Program, she provides individual and family therapy to children and adolescents facing complex medical and psychiatric issues. Dr. Laptook has a particular interest in childhood anxiety, selective mutism, child temperament, and parent-child interactions, making her an invaluable resource in her field and an advocate for children's mental health.
