Biography

Rebecca joined the University of Southampton in January 2023. Prior to her current role, she worked at the University of Warwick in the School of Law and as part of the Medical School and Institute of Advanced Teaching and Learning (IATL). Rebecca holds an LLB from Warwick (2016) and a PhD from Warwick (2019/20), where her research focused on children's participation in healthcare and the legal barriers they face. This research led to the design of initiatives aimed at facilitating children's meaningful participation in healthcare. In 2019, Rebecca was awarded a competitive IAS/IATL Early Career Fellowship, which resulted in publications stemming from her PhD work and strengthened her interdisciplinary research interests. She has experience teaching various law modules, including Medicine Law and Equity Trusts, and has developed teaching materials for higher education tutors. In 2021/2022, Rebecca was a Wellcome Trust Broadening Horizons Mentee.
