Biography

Rebecca N. Liu is an Assistant Professor of English at Brown University, specializing in Asian American literature and global histories of capitalism. Her current book project explores the centrality of Asian indenture as a contractual form in understanding the racialization of Asian Americans alongside labor and social reproduction from the nineteenth century to the present. An article drawn from this project is set to be published in 'American Literature'. Liu earned her PhD in English and Interdisciplinary Humanities from Princeton University. She is committed to examining the intersections of race, gender, and sexuality within her teaching and research.
