Biography

Rebecca Moody is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Administration at Erasmus University Rotterdam. She obtained her Master's degree in political science, focusing on international relations, at Leiden University in 2005, and completed her PhD in 2010 on the influence of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) on policy design and agenda-setting within the Department of Public Administration. Her research interests include the role of ICT and GIS in public policy-making processes, exploring how these tools can both assist and complicate the reaching of political agendas. Additionally, she has engaged in research on the influence of Web 2.0 technologies on micro-mobilization processes since 2008 and has been involved in the visual culture research project at Erasmus Studio since 2010, examining the impact of new technologies on public policy. Rebecca is also a part of the Unite Europe research project funded by FP7, which involves grid modeling and monitoring, and is currently working on a project exploring socio-technical factors that influence knowledge creation.
