Rebecca Shaffer, MD, is a board-certified Urogynecologist specializing in treating pelvic floor disorders, including urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. She is based at the Pelvic Health Center in UW Medical Center - Northwest. Dr. Shaffer believes in working collaboratively with patients to empower them to lead successful, active lives while addressing pelvic floor issues through both surgical and medical options. Her clinical expertise encompasses both surgical and non-surgical treatment approaches for pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, and accidental bowel leakage. She decided to pursue a career in Obstetrics and Gynecology because she was inspired by the belief that women deserve excellent health care, particularly in addressing problems that seriously affect their lives but are uncomfortable or difficult to discuss. Facing these issues head-on is crucial for improving a person's quality of life. Dr. Shaffer enjoys the team-based approach at UW Medicine and appreciates the natural beauty of the Seattle area, as well as its vibrant food and music scene, which inspire her personally and professionally.
