Biography

Rebecca Shelby, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University and the Director of Education and Training for the Duke Cancer Patient Support Program. Her research primarily focuses on developing and evaluating behavioral interventions for cancer patients, management of cancer pain, treatment side effects, and improving adherence to recommended care. She is actively involved in supervising clinical psychology interns and fellows, as well as graduate practicum students during their clinical rotations at the Duke Cancer Patient Support Program. Shelby completed her graduate training in clinical psychology at Ohio State University, followed by a clinical internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Duke University Medical Center. She is also a member of the Duke Pain Prevention Treatment Research Program and the Duke Cancer Control Population Sciences Program.
