Dr. Rebecca Stone

Biography

Rebecca Stone is a Professor of Law at the UCLA School of Law. She holds a B.A. in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the University of Oxford, as well as an M.Phil. and D.Phil. in Economics from the same institution. Additionally, she earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law. Professor Stone's primary research interests lie at the intersection of law, economics, and philosophy, with a focus on legal theory, contracts, torts, reconstructing notions of private law, and unjust enrichment. Her academic career includes notable positions as a visiting professor at NYU School of Law and Harvard Law School. She has clerked for Judge Richard Posner of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and for Justice Stephen Breyer of the U.S. Supreme Court. Professor Stone has published extensively, with recent works appearing in prestigious journals including the Harvard Business Law Review and the University of Toronto Law Journal. She teaches various courses on law including Restitution and Unjust Enrichment, Insurance Law, and Torts.
