Biography

Rebecca Wright has been engaged in health care since 2004, focusing her research on principles of justice, equity, and palliative care. She utilizes qualitative and participatory methodologies in a diverse range of settings, particularly with vulnerable populations. Her experience includes serving as a research assistant at St. Christopher’s Hospice in London and King's College London, where she worked on various local, national, and international projects. Dr. Wright earned her doctoral degree in nursing research from the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery at King's College London and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at New York University School of Medicine in the Department of Emergency Medicine. Her doctoral research highlighted mechanisms for improving clinical practice for older adults with palliative care needs through Experience-based Co-design (EBCD) methodology. Currently, she collaborates with interprofessional and transdisciplinary teams to enhance participatory approaches in palliative and end-of-life care, particularly addressing the needs of Black, Korean, and Puerto Rican communities. Dr. Wright is a founding member of the Palliative Interprofessional Collaborative Action Research (PICAR) and the Qualitative Core at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. Her ongoing research continues to emphasize equity in access to palliative care across various settings.
