Professor Dr. Rebekka Boyding

Biography

Rebekka Boyding is a lecturer at Aarhus University, where her research focuses on the interplay between artistic creation and institutional contexts. Her doctoral project, "The Savior Complex: Contemporary Art Perception and Artistic Knowledge, Thinking, and Work Meeting Non-Artistic Institutions," examines the characteristics of artistic creation and thought, particularly in the context of meetings between researchers, authors, and institutions. She is actively involved in the Velux Foundation's writers-in-residence program, where she explores the implications of establishing artistic and literary practices within non-artistic institutions. In addition to her academic work, Boyding is a practicing artist, playwright, and songwriter, having created various works for stage and published poetry and literary texts. Her research interests include artistic research, creativity, literary theory, and qualitative methods, particularly participatory and group creativity techniques. She has undertaken numerous teaching and organizational roles, contributing to seminars and workshops focused on creative writing and mental health.
