Dr. Reem Bahdi

Biography

Reem Bahdi is an Associate Professor and Dean of Windsor Law, appointed to the position on July 1, 2021. She joined the faculty in 2002, focusing her teaching and research on access to justice in Canada and Palestine. She co-created and co-directed KARAMAH, an initiative aimed at supporting human dignity in Palestine through judicial independence and civil society engagement. Bahdi served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Windsor Yearbook of Access to Justice and was the Associate Dean at Windsor Law from 2012 to 2015. She has been recognized for her advocacy and research in access to justice, receiving the Hala Salam Maksoud Award from the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee and the Outstanding Arab Canadian Achievement Award from the Canada Arab Business Council. Bahdi was also awarded the Guthrie Medal in 2017 for her outstanding contributions in research, teaching, and advocacy. She is a member of the Royal Society of Canada’s College of New Scholars, Artists, and Scientists since 2015, reflecting her national research excellence. Bahdi has earned multiple distinguished teaching awards from the University of Windsor for her commitment to exemplary teaching.
