Dr. Reggie Thomasson

Biography

Reggie Thomasson, MD, MS is an Assistant Professor at the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine at Boston University, specializing in Pathology & Laboratory Medicine. He completed his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina, followed by a Master’s degree at Winthrop College and a Bachelor’s degree at Wofford College. His academic focus includes blood bank and transfusion medicine, with a specific interest in massive transfusion and blood product inventory management. Currently, he holds the position of Medical Director of the Blood Bank Transfusion Medicine Service at Boston Medical Center, where he oversees the accreditation of the laboratory by CAP, AABB, and FACT. Throughout his career, Dr. Thomasson has contributed to various committees, including the Program Evaluation Committee and the Diversity Committee. His dedication to education and service has made him a prominent figure in his field, engaging in active research and mentoring within the medical community.
