Biography

Reid Hastie studies judgment decision making across various domains, including managerial, legal, medical, engineering, and personal contexts. His research delves into memory cognition and social psychology, particularly focusing on legal decision-making processes and the roles of causal reasoning in judgments. Hastie has co-authored significant works such as 'Rational Choice in an Uncertain World' and 'Wiser: Getting Groupthink to Make Groups Smarter'. He is affiliated with the Center for Decision Research at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and has taught at prestigious institutions like Harvard University and Northwestern University. Throughout his career, Hastie has served on review panels for the National Science Foundation and the National Institute of Mental Health and has been a member of numerous editorial boards for professional journals.
