Biography

Reiner Braun primarily conducts research in the fields of innovation funding, venture capital, and private equity. He is also interested in start-up funding management. Braun studied economics at Utrecht University and the University of Wuppertal, where he received his doctoral degree and was based in the Department of Entrepreneurship and Economic Development in 2007. He subsequently acquired a postdoctoral teaching qualification (habilitation) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in 2012. From 2013 to 2015, he held a professorship position in entrepreneurial finance at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (Friedrich-Alexander-Universität). In 2015, he accepted the Chair in Entrepreneurial Finance at TUM. His research work has taken him to prestigious institutions such as Oxford in 2010, Harvard in 2008, and Manchester in 2006.
