Biography

Reinhard Heckel is a Professor of Machine Learning in the Department of Computer Engineering at the Technical University of Munich. His research interests center around machine learning and information processing, with a focus on developing algorithms and theoretical foundations for deep learning, particularly in the medical imaging application domain. He completed his PhD at ETH Zurich, where he was recognized with the ETH Zurich medal for outstanding Ph.D. thesis. Throughout his career, he has contributed to numerous key publications in the field and has received several accolades, including being named among Germany’s “Top 40 under 40” by Capital Magazine in 2022.
