Réjean Hebert holds a degree in Geriatrics from the University of Sherbrooke and a Master of Philosophy in Epidemiology from the University of Cambridge. He was the first scientific director of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research's Institute of Aging, after establishing the Aging Research Center at the Université de Sherbrooke, which he led until 2001. From January 2004 to September 2010, he served as the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Sherbrooke University. Elected as a Member of Parliament in September 2012, he later became Minister of Health and Social Services as well as Minister for Seniors in the same year. He has implemented significant changes to the health services for the elderly and is involved in defining public policies for seniors and their caregivers. Since 2014, he has been a full professor in the Department of Health Administration at the School of Public Health at the University of Montreal. Dr. Hébert is a member of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences since 2005.
