Dr. Renata Konadu

Biography

Renata Konadu is a lecturer at the University of Southampton Business School since September 2021, having previously lectured at De Montfort University. Throughout her career, she has held part-time lecturing positions at Bournemouth University and the University of East London. Renata's research focuses on sustainability reporting, carbon accounting, sustainable development, and corporate governance. Her work examines how organizations account for and communicate their sustainability performance, emphasizing governance and the role of digital innovations in enhancing transparency and accountability. Renata has published in high-ranking journals such as the Business Strategy and the Environment and the Corporate Governance: International Journal of Business Society. She has presented her research at international and national conferences and has been involved in funded projects that support SMEs in preparing sustainability reports aligned with GRI Standards. Renata is also developing a PhD project proposal under the SustAI Centre Doctoral Training, focusing on AI-enabled sustainability reporting assurance in the circular economy. In addition to her academic duties, she is an experienced supervisor of PhD, master’s, and undergraduate student projects and serves as an ad hoc reviewer for leading journals.
