Biography

Renáta Kosová is a Professor of Economics and the Deputy Head of the Department of Economics & Public Policy at Imperial College Business School. She joined Imperial College in 2013 and has held significant academic and administrative roles, including serving as Programme Director for the MSc in Economics & Strategy Business from 2014 to 2018 and as the elected Chair of the Diversity Committee from 2016 to 2019. Kosová has previously been a faculty member at Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration and the George Washington University's Business School. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan (Ross School of Business) and has master's degrees in Economics from both the University of Michigan and Central European University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Comenius University in Slovakia. Her research primarily focuses on empirical studies in applied microeconomics and industrial organization, where she examines firm operations and performance, industry dynamics, corporate governance, and the economic impact of multinational corporations. Her dissertation, which investigated the crowding out of domestic firms by foreign firms in the Czech Republic, was awarded and published in prestigious academic journals such as the Review of Economics and Statistics.
