Dr. Renatas Kizys

Biography

Renatas Kizys is an Associate Professor in Finance at the University of Southampton. He specializes in asset pricing, cryptocurrencies, energy economics, and financial risk. He is also the Deputy Head of Research in the Department of Banking and Finance at the Southampton Business School. Renatas has a rich academic background, including BA and MA degrees in Economics from the University of Vilnius, Lithuania, as well as an MSc and PhD in Economics from the University of Alicante, Spain. Before his tenure at the University of Southampton, he spent eight years at the University of Portsmouth, where he was a Reader in Finance and Interim Head of the Economics Finance Subject Group. He has also held Academic Research Fellowships in various countries, encompassing both teaching and research roles. Renatas engages actively with PhD students and has encouraged candidates to pursue studies in related areas. His extensive knowledge covers multiple aspects of financial markets, macroeconomic factors, and environmental finance, making him a respected figure in his field.
