Dr. Renato Lopes

Biography

Renato Delascio Lopes is a Professor of Medicine at Duke University and a member of the Duke Clinical Research Institute. He specializes in cardiovascular medicine, focusing on atrial fibrillation, antithrombotic therapy, and acute coronary syndromes, particularly in elderly patients. His research interests include the development and efficacy of novel antithrombotic agents, anticoagulation strategies, and metabolomics. Lopes has contributed significantly to the field with numerous publications and ongoing grant-funded research. He completed his M.H.S. at Duke University's School of Medicine and holds a Ph.D. from Paulista Medical School in Brazil. He also received his M.D. from the University of Santo Amaro in Brazil. Lopes has held various positions, including Associate Professor and Adjunct Assistant Professor, and has been actively involved in clinical studies and trials aimed at improving treatment outcomes for patients with heart diseases.
