Biography

Renato Polimanti is an Associate Professor at Yale School of Medicine and an Associate Professor of Chronic Disease Epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health. He serves as the Associate Director for Scientific Technical Operations at the Clinical Epidemiology Research Center of the VA Connecticut Healthcare System. Polimanti's research leverages big data analytics involving molecular, clinical, and imaging data to understand the biology and epidemiology of human traits and diseases, developing tools to improve healthcare for diverse population groups. He has over 200 peer-reviewed publications, playing significant roles as an author, senior author, and sole author in various large collaborative projects including the Psychiatric Genomics Consortium and the Million Veteran Program. His expertise spans across several research areas including internalizing disorders, the interplay between mental and physical health, the impact of social determinants on health, and sex differences in psychiatric disorders. Furthermore, he integrates concepts from evolutionary biology and human genetics to uncover genetic signatures that shape complex traits across populations.
