Biography

Renbao Chen is a tenured Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School, specializing in finance. Originally from Anhui, China, he completed his undergraduate studies at Anhui University in 1985. He then pursued further education in the United States, earning a Ph.D. in Insurance and Demography and completing a post-doctorate at the Wharton School in 1993. Since 1994, he has been a member of the Department of Finance and Accounting at NUS, where he teaches various undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including EMBA programs. Chen has held significant administrative roles, such as Academic Director for the Chinese EMBA and the International MBA program jointly offered by NUS and Peking University. His research interests include financial management, risk management, insurance, employee benefits, and retirement planning. Over the past twenty years, he has provided training and consultancy services in financial management, bank management, and human resources to organizations in Singapore and China.
