Biography

Rene Caldentey is a Professor of Operations Management at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. His primary research interests include stochastic modeling applications in revenue management, retail management, queueing theory, and finance. He has published in numerous prestigious journals, including Advances in Applied Probability, Econometrica, Management Science, and Operations Research. Caldentey has served on the editorial boards of Management Science and Production and Operations Management. Before joining Booth, he was a professor in the department of Information, Operations, and Management Science at New York University Stern School of Business, starting in 2001. He has also worked with the Central Bank of Chile and taught at the University of Chile and at the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Caldentey holds a Master of Arts in civil industrial engineering from the University of Chile and a PhD in operations management from MIT.
