Dr. Rene Kizilcec

Biography

Rene Kizilcec is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Science at Cornell Bowers University, where he directs the Cornell Future Learning Lab. His research focuses on the behavioral, psychological, and computational aspects of technology in education, specifically examining practices and policies aimed at promoting learning equity and academic career success. Kizilcec's work has been published in prestigious venues such as Science and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. He has received multiple awards and has secured funding from organizations including the National Science Foundation, Schmidt Futures Foundation, and Jacob's Foundation. Kizilcec holds a Ph.D. in Communication and an M.Sc. in Statistics from Stanford University. He is actively interested in the intersection of education and technology, computational social sciences, ethics, law, policy, and human-computer interaction design.
