René Repasi is a full professor of law at Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands and a visiting professor at the Global Studies Institute. His expertise lies in European law, focusing on the Economic and Monetary Union of the EU, internal market law, and the legitimacy of the European Union and its institutions. He defended his doctoral thesis in 2016 at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, examining the impact of the principle of supremacy of European law on the private international law of EU member states. Before his appointment as a full professor in 2021, he served as an associate professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam and directed the Erasmus Centre for Economic and Financial Governance.
