Biography

Rene Vandenboom is a Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at Brock University. He holds a Ph.D. in Work Physiology from the University of Waterloo, which he obtained in 1996. Vandenboom's lab is part of Brock’s Centre for Bone and Muscle Health, where ongoing studies examine how skeletal muscle influences thermogenesis and overall health. He is actively involved in athletic research, with a passion for understanding how skeletal muscle impacts longevity and functional health throughout the lifespan. He collaborates with various organizations, including the Ontario College of Kinesiology and the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology, to promote advancements in exercise physiology and muscle health.
