Dr. Reni Butler

Biography

Reni Butler, MD, is a Professor at Yale School of Medicine in the Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging, specializing in breast imaging. She completed her MD at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and a fellowship in Diagnostic Radiology at Northwestern University. Dr. Butler has over a decade of experience in private practice and joined the Yale faculty in 2009. Her clinical expertise includes digital breast tomosynthesis and breast ultrasound, and she plays a vital role in multidisciplinary teams at Smilow Cancer Hospital. She has been involved in significant research, including serving as a co-Principal Investigator for a multi-institutional trial on opto-acoustic breast imaging, a novel technology aimed at improving breast cancer diagnosis. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Butler is dedicated to medical education, having founded the Yale Undergraduate Shadowing Program at the Smilow Breast Center, and actively revising the curriculum for first-year medical students at Yale. She has also held visiting professorships and frequently presents at national and regional CME meetings.
