Biography

Reyes Garcia is an Associate Professor of Structural Engineering at the University of Warwick, UK. He received his 5-year Degree in Civil Engineering (Graduated with Honours) from the University of Michoacán, Mexico, and completed joint MSc programs at ROSE School (Italy) and Grenoble Alpes University (France). He earned his PhD from the University of Sheffield, UK. With over 25 years of research and consultancy experience, Reyes has focused on structural sustainable concretes, FRP composites in construction, and earthquake engineering. He has managed and coordinated multi-partner EU Research Council-funded projects valued at over £5 million and has designed large-scale shake table tests at significant facilities across Europe. As an active contributor to the UK technical groups on Eurocode standards and a member of international research committees, Reyes also serves as Associate Editor for ICE's journal "Structures and Buildings" and as an Editorial Board Member for Springer's "Discover Polymers". He engages as a keynote speaker and chairs international conferences in Latin America and Asia. Additionally, he holds a visiting professor position at Walailak University, Thailand.
