Biography

Reza Mohammadi is an Assistant Professor in the Business Analytics Section at the University of Amsterdam since November 2017. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Methodology and Statistics at the Jheronimus Academy of Data Science from 2016 to 2017. He received his Ph.D. in Statistics in 2015, with a thesis titled 'Bayesian Model Determination in Complex Systems'. His research interests focus on developing efficient computational methods for inference and learning from high-dimensional multivariate data, which are commonly encountered in econometrics, machine learning, neuroscience, and health care. His current research centers on developing Bayesian statistical methods and graphical models for multivariate statistical analysis to better understand the underlying mechanisms of complex systems. His work has wide-ranging applications in health care, including capturing brain connectivity and addressing challenges like Alzheimer's disease. He is a core developer of several open-source software packages used in his publications, including the R packages BDgraph, ssgraph, bmixture, and liveR.
