Reza Motallebzadeh completed his pre-clinical training in Medical Sciences at St. John's College, University of Cambridge. He trained as a specialist registrar in cardiothoracic surgery in London and undertook research for his MD at St. George's Hospital. His academic pursuits in immunology led him back to Cambridge, where he progressed in the field of abdominal transplantation surgery. In September 2017, he joined the Royal Free London NHS Trust as an Honorary Consultant Renal Transplant Surgeon and has held several academic positions, including Associate Professor at University College London. Currently, he is the Professor of Renal Transplantation and the Head of the Centre for Transplantation in the Department of Renal Medicine at UCL, as well as the Deputy Head of the Centre for Surgical Innovation and Organ Repair Transplantation in the Division of Surgery and Interventional Science. Reza is also a group leader at the Institute of Immunity & Transplantation at UCL.
