Dr. Reza Razavi

Biography

Professor Reza Razavi is a prominent academic in the field of Paediatric Cardiovascular Science at King's College London. He is an Honorary Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. Professor Razavi has served as Vice President (Research) at King's College London from March 2017 to January 2023, and previously as Director of Research for King’s Health Partners from June 2015 to September 2020. His career initiated in medicine after qualifying from St. Bartholomew’s Medical School in 1988, where he later specialized in Paediatrics and Paediatric Cardiology. He directed the Division of Imaging Sciences and Biomedical Engineering at King's from January 2007 until March 2017 and has held multiple research leadership positions. His research predominantly focuses on imaging technologies in biomedical engineering, particularly in relation to cardiovascular diseases, including cardiac MRI, congenital heart disease, and image-guided interventions. He has been instrumental in developing techniques for three-dimensional imaging and physiological assessments. His recent projects include pioneering methods for employing biophysical computational models and molecular imaging, significantly advancing the understanding and treatment of cardiac conditions.
