Biography

Rhodri Jervis is an Associate Professor in Chemical Engineering at University College London, specializing in the characterization of energy conversion and storage materials and devices using advanced X-ray techniques. He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford with a degree in Chemistry in 2008 and subsequently worked at a medical research spinout in his hometown of Swansea. He obtained his PhD in fuel cell catalysis from University College London in 2015. Following his doctoral studies, he held a post-doctoral research position focusing on redox flow batteries before becoming a Lecturer in Chemical Engineering at UCL in June 2018. In October 2023, he was promoted to Associate Professor and currently serves as the Project Lead for the Faraday Institution project on Li-ion battery degradation.
