Rhonda Martens began her philosophical journey at the University of Manitoba as an undergraduate student, later pursuing her graduate studies at Dalhousie University and the University of Western Ontario. After earning her PhD in Philosophy in 1997, she took a postdoctoral position at the University of Chicago before returning to the University of Manitoba in 1999. Her primary research interests focus on robot and cyborg ethics as well as social network theory and its implications on justice. She is deeply engaged in the intersections of technology and its effects on human relationships. Martens teaches courses on artificial intelligence, robotics, cyborg ethics, and the philosophy of science, continually exploring how these fields interrelate. In addition, she is currently accepting graduate students for Master's programs and fosters a vibrant academic atmosphere within the Faculty of Arts.
