Ricardo Daziano received his Ph.D. in Economics from Laval University in 2010 and joined the faculty at Cornell University in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in January 2011. His teaching and research focus on sustainable systems engineering and engineering decision-making. Daziano’s research interests include theoretical and applied econometrics, consumer behavior, discrete choice models, and their applications to technological innovation, transportation, and energy. His empirical research includes analysis of air travel demand, study of pro-environmental preferences for low-emission vehicles, and modeling adoption of sustainable travel behavior. He has significant expertise in estimating willingness-to-pay for renewable energy and forecasting consumer response to environmentally-friendly energy sources. In addition to his research, Daziano teaches graduate courses in Microeconometrics, Discrete Choice, and Transportation Energy Systems, as well as an undergraduate course in Engineering Economics Management. His teaching encompasses economic models of decision-making in engineering, choice analysis of microdata, and advanced statistical techniques.
