Dr. Ricardo Fukasawa

Biography

Professor in the Department of Combinatorics and Optimization at the University of Waterloo. He obtained a PhD in Algorithms, Combinatorics, and Optimization from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2008. His research primarily focuses on developing exact methods for hard discrete optimization problems and applying these methods to practical challenges. He has worked extensively with cutting planes in general mixed-integer programming, vehicle routing problems, bilevel optimization, and stochastic programming, particularly in the contexts of medicine, scheduling, and group decision-making.
