Biography

Dr. Lastra is a surgical pathologist and cytopathologist with a subspecialty focus on gynecologic pathology. He completed his medical education at Universidad Central de Venezuela in 2005. Following this, he underwent residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Pennsylvania Hospital, completing in 2012. He further pursued fellowship training in Surgical Pathology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 2013 and then in Cytopathology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in 2014. By 2015, he completed advanced specialty training in Gynecologic Pathology. His research interests include Uterine Cervical Neoplasms, Ovarian Neoplasms, and other female genital neoplasms, including Endometrial Neoplasms and Endometrioid Carcinoma. He has co-authored numerous publications and is actively engaged in research within his field.
