Richard Brull graduated from the University of Calgary medical school in 1999 and completed his anesthesia residency at the University of Toronto in 2004. He subsequently undertook fellowship training in regional anesthesia at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Brull returned to Toronto Western Hospital as a staff anesthesiologist in 2005 and has strong clinical academic interests in regional anesthesia, ultrasound guidance, and nerve injury. Brull served as the Site Chief of the Department of Anesthesia at Women’s College Hospital in Toronto from 2012 to 2017 and was subsequently appointed the inaugural Evelyn Bateman Cara Operations Chair in Ambulatory Anesthesia for Women’s Health at Women’s College Hospital. He has held the rank of Professor of Anesthesia at the University of Toronto since 2014.
