Richard Carvel is a Senior Lecturer and Assistant Director of Learning and Teaching (Curriculum Development) at the University of Edinburgh, specializing in Civil Environmental Engineering. At the University of Edinburgh, he teaches undergraduate and MSc courses in Fire Science & Fire Dynamics and Models of Fire Safety, while also providing fire safety engineering consultancy services to multiple companies. He was a nominee for the 'Best Course' category in the 2018 EUSA Teaching Awards.
