Biography

Richard D'Innocenzo, MD, DMD, is a Clinical Professor at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, specializing in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the Medical College of Pennsylvania. D'Innocenzo completed his training in oral maxillofacial surgery in 1994 at the University of Pennsylvania. He joined the faculty of Boston University in 2006 and currently serves as the Director of Pre-doctoral Education. His primary research interests focus on pre-doctoral education, ambulatory general anesthesia, treatment of maxillofacial pathology, and dental implantology. D'Innocenzo has published extensively in his field and has held leadership positions such as President of the Massachusetts Society of Dental Anesthesiology. He is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a Diplomate of the National Board of Dental Anesthesiology, and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists. Throughout his decorated career, he has received several awards for excellence in teaching and education, reflecting his commitment to the field and his students.
