Dr. Richard Dekmejian

Biography

Richard Dekmejian is a Professor Emeritus of Political Science at USC Dornsife, recognized for his extensive research in National Security, International Mediation, and Middle East studies. His career has included significant contributions to the understanding of Political Elites, Comparative Genocides, and Terrorism. With a wealth of experience, Dekmejian has led major grant projects focused on Scalable, Stochastic Spatiotemporal Game Theory and its application to real-world adversarial behavior. He has been actively involved in numerous conference presentations and workshops, addressing critical issues such as the impact of the Middle East crisis on global business and the role of genocide in contemporary studies. His leadership roles include directorship at the USC Institute of Armenian Studies, where he oversaw initiatives aimed at advancing scholarship in Armenian history and politics.
