Biography

Richard Fair is the Lord-Chandran Distinguished Professor of Engineering at Duke University with a focus on microfluidic systems and lab-on-a-chip applications based on electrowetting technology. He is a Life Fellow of the IEEE and has been recognized with numerous awards including the IEEE Millennium Medal in 2000 and the Gordon E. He has established strategic alliances across multiple departments within Duke, as well as collaborations with institutions like Harvard and Stanford to advance research in bio-fluidic systems. His work is supported by grants from NSF and DARPA to develop innovative platforms for genomic engineering and airborne particle sensing, reinforcing his commitment to cutting-edge research in the field.
