Biography

Richard Gonzalez is the Amos N. Tversky Collegiate Professor at the University of Michigan's Department of Psychology. He received his Ph.D. in Psychology from Stanford University in 1990 and his B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1985. His research interests primarily focus on judgment and decision-making, employing a variety of techniques including mathematical modeling, surveys, field observations, and experimental lab studies. His work aims to understand both normative and descriptive decision-making processes and their applications in real-world contexts, such as product design and medical decision-making.
