Biography

Richard Heusdens is a Guest Associate Professor at Delft University of Technology and an expert in signal processing systems. He has a background in audio acoustic signal processing, distributed signal processing, information theory, and speech enhancement. He received his HTS diploma from HTS Alkmaar in 1988 and completed both his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees at Delft University of Technology in 1992 and 1997, respectively. He joined Philips Research Laboratories' digital signal processing group in 1992, transitioning to the Circuits Systems Group at Delft University in 1997 as a Postdoctoral Researcher. He became an Associate Professor in the Information Communication Theory Group, focusing on audio speech processing. His involvement in various research projects includes working on advanced speech enhancement techniques and multi-microphone noise reduction strategies suitable for hearing aids. He has collaborated with leading organizations such as Huawei and Oticon A/S on several sponsored projects, and has contributed to numerous publications in prestigious journals, greatly advancing the field of signal processing. Richard also holds a part-time position at Aalborg University, chairing distributed signal processing activities. He continues to foster the next generation of researchers by guiding PhD students.
