Dr. Richard Hobbs

Biography

Richard Hobbs is a leading figure in the field of digital health and cardiovascular research. He currently serves as a Professor at the University of Oxford in the Medical Sciences Division. His research interests mainly focus on digital health, cardio-metabolic-renal epidemiology, and clinical trials, particularly concerning vascular stroke risk and heart failure. Hobbs has published over 700 peer-reviewed articles, boasts a remarkable h-index of 124, and has been cited approximately 149,000 times in academic literature. Notably, he has impacted international health policies and clinical guidelines, particularly through major trials in stroke prevention and heart failure. Awarded a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2018 for his contributions to medical research, he has also chaired several national and international scientific research funding boards. His leadership roles include serving on the University Council at Oxford and directing the Oxford Institute of Digital Health and the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Oxford.
