Dr. Richard Hornsey

Biography

Richard Hornsey is a University Professor at York University with a background in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario. He has served in various academic leadership roles and values the hard work of his colleagues in the university setting. Hornsey's research has taken an interdisciplinary approach, particularly in collaboration with the C4 team, which seeks to bring together individuals from various disciplines and community partners. His research interests focus on the history of engineering and technical education. He has worked on project areas that include liquid metal ion sources, quantum electronic devices, amorphous silicon devices, CMOS active pixel sensors, integrated cameras, biologically inspired image sensors, and sensor networks and swarms. As a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada and an honorific University Professor, his contributions to the field are notable, and he seeks to inspire future generations of engineers through his research and teaching.
