Biography

Richard Malik is one of the world's most respected feline veterinarians, graduating from the University of Sydney in 1981. He initially trained in anaesthesia and intensive care at the Sydney University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. He then pursued a PhD in neuropharmacology at the John Curtin School of Medical Research, Australian National University. He has been affiliated with the University of Sydney's Veterinary Clinical Sciences for over 16 years in various capacities, including as a Senior Lecturer in Feline Medicine from 1995 to 2002. His research interests span genetic diseases in cats and dogs, infectious diseases affecting cats and dogs, and parasitic diseases in these animals. Dr. Malik is well recognized as an authority on mycobacterial diseases, cryptococcosis, and drug therapies for treating various conditions. He has received multiple grants for his research efforts and has been quoted in various publications regarding his expertise in veterinary medicine.
