I am a river scientist and an avid white water kayaker with a deep passion for exploring and understanding river ecosystems. My research focuses on the interactions between physical processes, such as water and sediment dynamics, and biological processes involving plants and animals. I work across varying scales, from examining the effects of tiny insects on sediment transport to overarching fluvial and glacial biological dynamics that shape river environments. I believe that building healthy and resilient rivers is crucial for effective water resource management, which benefits both ecosystems and human communities that depend on these waterways. My efforts involve close collaboration with stakeholders to foster a deeper understanding of nature-based restoration strategies. I dedicate much of my time in the field, kayaking and researching river systems, and I am keen to work with river enthusiasts and potential student collaborators.
