Biography

Richard M. Murray is the Everhart Professor of Control Dynamical Systems and Bioengineering at California Institute of Technology. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Caltech in 1985, a Master of Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 1988, and a Ph.D. in 1990. Murray began his academic career at Caltech as an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering from 1991 to 1997, later becoming an Associate Professor until 2000. Murray has served as Chair of Engineering Applied Science and has directed the Information Science Technology program.
