Dr. Richard Price

Biography

Richard Price is an Honorary Associate Professor at the Fenner School of Environment & Society at the Australian National University. He is the Director of Kiri-ganai Research, an Australian environmental research company. Richard has received the prestigious Australian Banksia Award for biodiversity research and was a finalist for the Eureka Science Awards. His portfolio includes leading the Centre for Invasive Species Solutions, where he coordinated a $50 million research initiative involving 200 researchers. He has also held key advisory roles for the governments of China and Australia, helping to shape environmental policy. Richard's research interests focus on climate change policy and the creation of inter-jurisdictional policy committees. He has a strong background in sociology, having earned his PhD from Charles Sturt University. Throughout his career, Richard has been involved in significant national environmental initiatives and has contributed to numerous research programs in Australia and Indonesia. Notable achievements include his leadership in creating frameworks for rural research funding and collaboration across various governmental bodies. He has also been a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology since 2013.
