Biography

Richard J. Reddick is the Senior Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and a Professor in the Program in Higher Education Leadership at the University of Texas at Austin. He has an extensive history of engagement with the University, having previously served as the assistant director of the Plan II Honors Program and as a faculty member in the Department of African American Studies. Reddick teaches graduate courses focused on the history of higher education, multicultural mentoring, and qualitative research methods. He has also been appointed as a visiting associate professor at Harvard Graduate School of Education, where he teaches in the Institute for Educational Management. Recognized as an award-winning teacher and scholar, he has received numerous accolades for his work in teaching and community engagement, including the 2021-2022 President's Award for Global Learning. Reddick's research interests include the experiences of faculty of color at predominantly White institutions and the work-life balance in academia. He has published extensively and is involved in various committees aimed at promoting equity and diversity in education.
