Dr. Richard Roberts

Biography

Richard Roberts is a Professor specializing in Biophysical Chemistry at USC Dornsife. He completed his Ph.D. in Biophysical Chemistry at Yale University in April 1993 and holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Kansas, obtained in May 1987. Following his doctoral studies, he was an Alfred P. Sloan NIH Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital from April 1993 to August 1997. His research interests focus on protein design, the biophysical properties of RNA and DNA, and the chemical biology underlying therapeutics related to the origins of life. He is involved in multiple interdisciplinary projects that bridge chemistry, materials science, and biomedical engineering, contributing valuable insights into the mechanisms of biomolecular interactions and their applications in developing new therapeutic strategies.
